Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant, passionate about supporting children with additional needs?

Flourish Education are working alongside a wonderful Primary School based in Worcester, who are hoping to appoint a qualified SEN Teaching Assistant starting in February, until the end of the academic year.

This SEN Teaching Assistant role is a full-time classroom based role, supporting in their reception class, on a  1:1 support basis. This is working closely with the class teacher to support a safe, engaging, and positive learning environment.

The child presents with Autism, and requires consistent, nurturing support to help them focus, regulate emotions, and engage positively with learning. This role is ideal for someone who is calm under pressure and passionate about making a real difference to a child’s educational journey.

Required Skills and Experience for this SEN Teaching Assistant role
  • Hold a relevant level 2 or Level 3 qualification.
  • Previous experience working with SEN pupils, within a Primary school, nursery or SEN setting, particularly with pupils who have autism, and challenging behaviour.
  • Be familiar with implementing strategies to manage and reduce challenging behaviours
  • Be able to build strong, and trusting relationships with the children in the class.
  • Good curriculum knowledge of the EYFS curriculum.
  • A DBS on the update service or issued in the last 12 months
  • A minimum of 2 excellent references
