SEND Teaching Assistant

Job Description

We are recruiting a SEND teaching assistant role to work in the Walsall area in a 1-form entry “Outstanding” Primary School. This SEND teaching assistant role is to work on a 1:1 basis with a child in Year 1 with Autism and challenging behaviour.

The school is looking for a SEND teaching assistant with experience with Autism and challenging behaviour. Additional qualifications around SEND is desirable. 

Our client is looking for someone who is confident working towards objectives of an EHCP, deliver 1:1 sessions independently and mark work to feedback to the class teacher. In return, the school gives a great community and SLT hold an open-door policy.

This SEND teaching assistant will start in September 2024 and is a permanent position with working hours being 08:30am-15:30pm.

Required Skills and Experience for this SEND Teaching Assistant role

  • Hold a Level 2 or Level 3 qualification
  • Good knowledge and experience of working with SEND
  • Experience working in Nurseries or Primary Schools as a Teaching Assistant or LSA
  • A DBS on the update service or issued in the last 12 months
  • A minimum of 2 excellent references

Our client is in Walsall which is easily accessible from Wednesbury, Darlaston, Cannock, Great Barr and Sutton Coldfield. Our client does not have on site parking but there is parking on surrounding roads.
