A new opportunity for a Level 3 SEND Teaching Assistant with Flourish Education has arisen in a large 3-form entry Primary School in the Walsall area. This SEND Teaching Assistant role is to start after October half term until at least the end of the academic year on a full-time basis. Your working hours will be Monday to Friday 08:30 until 15:30.
You will be working alongside a supportive KS1 department, providing support to a small group of children with SEND/additional needs. You will have the full support of the school’s SENDCo to ensure that the children’s needs are met alongside any further support or guidance you require.
SEND Teaching Assistant responsibilities at our client's school will include but are not limited to supporting the Class Teacher to prepare the classroom ahead of lessons, conduct small group work and/or 1:1 intervention and deliver personal care (subject to each school and their requirements). You will be required to work closely to support children with SEN and prior experience working with children with SEN is essential.
Required Skills and Experience for this Teaching Assistant role
- Hold a Level 2 or Level 3 qualification
- Good knowledge and experience of working with SEND
- Experience working in Nurseries or Primary Schools as a Teaching Assistant or LSA
- A DBS on the update service or issued in the last 12 months
- A minimum of 2 excellent references
