Job Description

We are recruiting a SEND Teaching Assistant to join an OFSTED rated GOOD Primary School in Bloxwich to start after Easter, with the strong possibility of continuing into the summer term. This full-time SEND Teaching Assistant role is supporting a Year 5 child on a 1:1 basis with SEMH and behavioural needs.

The school is looking for a committed TA who can provide consistency, structure and strong behaviour support while working closely with the Class Teacher. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Level 3 qualified SEND Teaching Assistant seeking stability and a positive work life balance within a supportive Primary School.

Job Role:
As a SEND Teaching Assistant you will:
• Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a Year 5 pupil with SEMH and behavioural needs
• Work alongside the Class Teacher to deliver learning in line with the National Curriculum
• Support learning across Key Stage 2 (KS2) with awareness of Key Stage 1 (KS1), Reception and EYFS provision
• Implement behaviour management strategies and personalised learning plans
• Encourage positive engagement, emotional regulation and independence
• Liaise with the Class Teacher and SENDCo to monitor and review progress


Required Skills and Experience:
• Previous UK school experience is essential
• Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
• Experience working as a SEND Teaching Assistant, Teaching Assistant, TA or Learning Support Assistant within a Primary School
• Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum across KS1 and KS2
• Experience supporting pupils with SEMH and challenging behaviour
• Confident supporting within a structured Primary School environment
• Excellent communication and behaviour management skills
