Job Description

Flourish Education are recruiting for a SENDCo to work at a secondary Alternative Provision based in Solihull. Our client is a supportive and well-regarded provision, and they are seeking a SENDCo who is passionate about improving outcomes for young people with Special Educational Needs.
 
This role is Monday to Friday, 8:15am – 4:15pm, and is offered on a temp-to-perm basis, starting in January.
 
As a SENDCo within this provision, you will be responsible for designing and overseeing targeted interventions, supporting pupils with a range of complex needs, and leading on the implementation of the school’s SEN strategy. You will be required to complete assessments for students with EHCPs, make recommendations on appropriate provision, work closely with teachers and external professionals to implement EHCP targets, and provide ongoing advice and guidance to staff on supporting students with diverse SEN needs. You will also ensure compliance with national and school-level SEN policies.
 
The ideal candidate will hold the appropriate SENDCo qualifications, have experience working with secondary-aged pupils with SEN particularly within an Alternative Provision or similar setting and be committed to working collaboratively as part of a dedicated and supportive team.
 
 
To apply for this SENDCo role, you will need:
  • Recognised qualification in Special Educational Needs Coordination (NASENCO) or working towards it
  • Strong experience supporting and coordinating SEN provision, ideally within a secondary or alternative provision setting
  • In-depth understanding of EHCP processes, including assessments, reviews, and implementing targeted interventions
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to guide and advise staff on effective SEN strategies
  • Proven ability to manage challenging behaviours and support pupils with complex needs
  • A strong, recent school reference demonstrating your effectiveness in a SEND-focused role
