Speech & Language Teaching Assistant

We are looking for a Speech & Language Teaching Assistant seeking a new challenge based in East Birmingham at a school who’s vision is to create a safe and happy environment for children to develop life-long communication skills to become valued members of modern-day society. This is a Long term role with immediate start.

JOB ROLE:

Our Speech & Language TA role is an excellent opportunity to make a big difference in a pupil’s education and involves:

• Create a nurturing and inclusive environment that promotes children's engagement, and learning.
• Implement individualised learning plans and strategies as directed by the class teacher and SENCo following EHCP targets.
• Support the children in developing social skills and fostering positive peer relationships

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification or relevant Speech & Language degree equivalent
• Previous experience working with children with Speech and Language difficulties
• Understanding of various alternative communication systems
• An enhanced DBS check on the update service and be able to provide references
