Are you nearing the end of your teaching studies, and looking for a new role in the Summer term?

Flourish Education are looking to recruit a Supply Teacher to work on a part-time basis (3 days per week) in a welcoming primary school in Oldbury. This role will involve teaching across EYFS and Key Stage 1 throughout the summer term.

As a Supply Teacher in our partner school, you will be responsible for delivering pre-planned lessons across EYFS and KS1, maintaining strong classroom and behaviour management, supporting pupils of varying abilities, safeguarding all students, marking work in line with school policy where required, and liaising with teaching assistants to ensure lessons run smoothly. No planning will be expected, allowing you to focus purely on high-quality lesson delivery.

This Supply Teacher role is due to start at the beginning of the Summer Term and is expected to continue until July 2026. You will be required to work three days per week, during standard school hours.

Applications are welcomed from Early Career Teachers (ECTs) who are finishing their studies and looking to gain valuable classroom experience, as well as experienced teachers seeking flexible, part-time work before the summer break.

As a Supply Teacher, your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering pre-planned lessons across EYFS and Key Stage 1, ensuring continuity of learning.
  • Creating an engaging and supportive classroom environment that promotes positive behaviour and participation.
  • Following the school’s policies and procedures, including safeguarding requirements.
  • Adapting teaching to meet the needs of different learners within the class.
  • Managing classroom behaviour effectively to maintain a calm and purposeful learning environment.
  • Marking work in line with school policy where required.
  • Working collaboratively with Teaching Assistants and year group staff to support pupils throughout the day.
  • Building positive relationships with pupils and staff to ensure a smooth and successful school day.

 

Required Skills and Experience for this Supply Teacher role:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or currently completing your ECT year.
  • Experience teaching within EYFS and/or Key Stage 1 (placements considered for ECTs).
  • A secure understanding of the EYFS framework and/or KS1 curriculum expectations.
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • The ability to confidently deliver pre-prepared lessons with minimal supervision.
  • Flexibility, adaptability, and a proactive approach to working across different year groups.
  • The ability to work effectively alongside Teaching Assistants and the wider school team.
  • A professional and reliable manner.
  • A DBS on the Update Service or issued within the last 12 months.
  • A minimum of two excellent references.

This Supply Teacher role is based in Oldbury and has good transport links from West Bromwich, Smethwick, Tipton and the surrounding areas. For those travelling by car, on-site parking is provided.
