Role: Year 6 class, full time

Area: Smethwick, B66

Starting: September 2022

Flourish Education are working with a ‘Good’ school in the Smethwick area. The school is based over two sites and works hard to create strong links between home and school. The school has links to the parish and instils a strong sense of respect and understanding towards others. Children are encouraged to learn skills in a happy and supportive environment, which enables them to grow in confidence. Someone who would be able to fit in with this ethos and vision for education would be ideal.

The school are seeking to appoint a Year 6 teacher for the new academic year and would be open to applications - from both experienced and newly qualified teachers. The role would involve teaching, planning and assessment for the class. Support and training would be given to the Year 6 class teacher by the existing staff – who are both friendly and experienced. The ideal Year 6 teacher would have previous experience working in Upper Key Stage Two – preferably Year 6 experience. Good knowledge of the SATs curriculum and year group expectations will be essential, although support and training will be provided.

To apply for this Year 6 teacher role you will need the following:

• Qualified teacher status (ECTs are encouraged to apply)
• Previous experience teaching in Upper Key Stage Two
• Good knowledge of the Year 6 curriculum.
• Secure knowledge of SATs
• Commitment to a long-term post
• DBS on the update service or issued in the last 12 months.
• Minimum of 2 excellent references required.

Responsibilities for the Year 6 teacher role:

• To teach lessons to match the Year 6 curriculum
• To communicate and direct colleagues to support pupils.
• To ensure that children make progress towards their early learning goals.
• To follow the school behaviour policy and code of conduct.
• To attend meetings and CPD training that is relevant to the role.
