Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and nurturing Teaching Assistant who has experience supporting pupils with additional needs and can provide consistent, structured support within a Key Stage 1 setting near Kings Norton.

This full time position is due to start ASAP until the end of academic year, offering you the chance to make a real difference in supporting a small group of Year 1 pupils with SEND who are on assessment pathways for ADHD and ASD. You will be working closely with the class teacher and TA to provide tailored support.

As a Year 1 Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for:
• Supporting a small group of pupils with SEND within the classroom environment
• Delivering targeted interventions in a small-group space when required
• Encouraging engagement, focus and positive learning behaviours
• Supporting pupils with social, emotional and communication needs
• Working collaboratively with the Class Teacher and TA to adapt provision where necessary
• Ensuring safeguarding and welfare policies are strictly followed

Required Skills and Experience needed as a Year 1 Teaching Assistant:
• Experience working with children with SEND, particularly ADHD and ASD
• Experience within a KS1 or Early Years setting
• A patient, nurturing and proactive approach
• Strong behaviour management skills
• Recent experience working within a UK Primary School
