Job Description

Flourish Education is currently recruiting a Teaching Assistant to work with an Ofsted-rated ‘Good’ school in Highgate to join their staff on a long-term basis. This Primary school strive for success in all aspects of children’s lives from emotional support and development to academic excellence.

Our client wants to appoint a passionate Teaching Assistant (TA) to work in a Year 1 class. Responsibilities in this role will include preparing the classroom ahead of lessons, providing support to the class teacher, conducting small group interventions and showing a high standard of modelling. You may need to support children with SEN in the class at times.

This Teaching Assistant (TA) role is to start ASAP and is ongoing on a long term basis. The role is full time. 

Required Skills and Experience for this Teaching Assistant role:

  • Experience working in schools in the UK
  • Minimum Level 3 qualification
  • Effectively manage the behaviour and engagement of the children
  • Motivating and encouraging the children
  • Supporting with learning and development
  • Support children with SEND and EAL
  • Working closely with the class teacher, SENDCo and other staff
  • Giving feedback to parents
  • Commitment to the role
  • Being flexible when needed
  • Personal care may be required
Working for Flourish Education as a Teaching Assistant (TA) you will receive:
  • £88.92 day rate to £100 day rate which equates to £17,340 per annum to £19,500 per annum based on working 5 days a week for a full school year

This Teaching Assistant opportunity is located in Highgate which is easily commutable from Balsall Heath, Jewellery Quarter, Aston, Small Heath, Sparkhill, Moseley, Jewellery Quarter and most areas of Birmingham via car, bus and train.
