Are you a caring and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant looking for a part-time role within Early Years?

A welcoming and supportive First School in Droitwich is seeking a Reception Teaching Assistant to join their team from September on a long-term basis. This is a part-time position, working 4 days per week, and would suit an experienced Teaching Assistant or someone looking to develop their experience within an Early Years setting.

This role is ideal for a passionate Teaching Assistant who enjoys supporting young children during the important early stages of their education. Working within a Reception class, you will help create a nurturing and engaging learning environment, supporting pupils both academically and socially as they develop key skills and confidence.

The school is looking for someone who can build positive relationships with children, staff, and parents, and who is committed to helping every child reach their full potential.

As a Reception Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the class teacher with the delivery of engaging learning activities.

  • Working with individual pupils and small groups to reinforce learning.

  • Supporting children's communication, language, literacy, and numeracy development.

  • Encouraging positive behaviour and promoting independence.

  • Assisting with classroom preparation and the organisation of learning resources.

  • Supporting children with personal, social, and emotional development.

  • Observing and monitoring pupil progress and providing feedback to the class teacher.

  • Helping to create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment.

  • Building positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.

  • Supporting children during indoor and outdoor learning activities.


To be successful in this Reception Teaching Assistant role, you will need:

  • Previous experience working with children within a school, nursery, or childcare setting.

  • A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not essential.

  • A good understanding of Early Years or Reception-aged children.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • A patient, caring, and nurturing approach.

  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team.

  • A flexible, reliable, and professional attitude.

  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to use initiative.

  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
