Job Description

Flourish Education is seeking a passionate SEND Teaching Assistant to work in the Meriden area in a mixed form entry village school. This SEN Teaching Assistant role is to work on a 1:1 basis with a child in year 4 with Autism and Challenging behaviour.

This role is perfect for a dedicated professional with experience working with children with SEND. You will provide support to the child who is based in a mixture of Classroom and Nurture room

This is a full-time role is due to start as soon as possible and continue in September until  the end of the academic role for the right person.

This SEND Teaching Assistant Job Role:
  • Supporting the Class Teacher with delivering engaging lessons aligned with the National Curriculum.
  • Working with the pupil in the school’s nurture room
  • Preparing classroom resources and assisting with lesson planning.
  • Helping maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Collaborating with school staff to ensure a positive and productive school day.
  • Delivering interventions in the schools’ resource base.
Required Skills and experience for this SEND Teaching Assistant (TA) Role:
  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a UK Primary School.
  • SEN TA experience or 121 TA experience
  • A Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in childcare, teaching assistant or equivalent.
  • A solid understanding of the KS2 National Curriculum.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Strong experience with Challenging behaviour
