Teaching Assistant

Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to join a Primary School in Rugeley. This role will involve supporting a Reception class, working closely alongside the class teacher to help maintain a safe, engaging and positive learning environment.

The successful candidate will have experience delivering small group work and 1:1 interventions across core subjects. Experience with the Read Write Inc phonics scheme would be advantageous, as this is used within the school.

This position is due to start in April 2026 and will continue until July 2026. Working hours are 8:30am – 3:30pm, Monday to Friday. There is also the potential for this role to become permanent.
 

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification

  • Strong knowledge of Early Year Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum

  • Previous experience working in a Nursery or Primary School as a Teaching Assistant or LSA

  • Recent UK school experience

  • A DBS registered on the update service or issued within the last 12 months

  • A minimum of two excellent references
