Job Description

Teaching Assistant required for a welcoming Primary School in Stroud. This Teaching Assistant opportunity is unique as you will be working 3 days per week on a one to one basis with an Arabic speaking child, where speaking Sudanese Arabic is essential for this role. The school is a supportive Primary School with a strong leadership team and excellent behaviour. This Teaching Assistant position is to start as soon as possible and offers consistency within a nurturing environment.
Job Role:
  • Working as a TA providing one to one support for an Arabic speaking pupil
  • Supporting learning in line with the National Curriculum within Key Stage 1 (KS1)
  • Assisting the Class Teacher with planning and adapting resources
  • Encouraging engagement and progress across the Primary School setting
  • Monitoring progress and providing feedback to the Class Teacher
  • Promoting a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment
Required Skills and Experience:
  • Previous UK school experience is essential
  • Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
  • Experience working within a Primary School setting
  • Knowledge of the National Curriculum, particularly Key Stage 1 (KS1)
  • Experience as a TA supporting pupils on a one to one basis
  • Confident liaising with the Class Teacher and wider school staff
  • Speaking Sudanese Arabic is essential for this role
  • Experience supporting EAL pupils is desirable

This position is in Stroud, which is easily commutable from Stonehouse, Nailsworth, Dursley, Gloucester, Cheltenham and Cirencester. The Primary School offers onsite parking and has excellent transport links across Gloucestershire.
