We are currently seeking a Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming Primary School in Telford. In this role, you will support a Year 1 class, working alongside the class teacher to create a safe, positive, and engaging learning environment where pupils can thrive.
This position is available to start as soon as possible and is expected to continue until December 2026, with the potential for an extension. The working hours are 8:30am – 3:30pm, Monday to Thursday.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will provide classroom support throughout the school day and deliver small-group phonics intervention sessions. The school follows the Read Write Inc. phonics programme, so previous experience using this scheme is essential.
Required Skills and Experience for this Teaching Assistant role:
- Hold a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
- Have a good understanding of the Key Stage 1 (KS1) curriculum
- Experience working as a Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant within a Nursery or Primary School
- Recent UK school-based experience
- A DBS registered on the Update Service, or issued within the last 12 months
- A minimum of two excellent professional references
