A welcoming and supportive Primary School in Wednesbury is seeking a dedicated Early Years Teaching Assistant to join their team full-time from September on a long-term basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant with a strong background in Early Years who is looking for a consistent role supporting children within a nurturing and engaging classroom environment.

The successful candidate will be supporting an Early Years class throughout the school day, providing targeted interventions, small group activities, and additional support to help children develop their learning and confidence. The school is looking for someone who is passionate about Early Years education, patient, nurturing, and confident supporting children at different stages of development.

As an Early Years Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the class teacher with the teaching and learning of children within an Early Years classroom.

• Providing targeted small group support and interventions to help children develop their skills.

• Supporting children with phonics, early reading, communication, number and other areas of the Early Years curriculum.

• Working with individual pupils or small groups to reinforce learning and encourage progress.

• Supporting children during continuous provision, encouraging independence and positive interactions.

• Helping to create a stimulating, engaging and inclusive learning environment.

• Supporting children's social, emotional and communication development throughout the school day.

• Working closely with the class teacher to identify areas where children may need additional support.

• Providing feedback to the class teacher regarding children's progress, engagement and behaviour.

• Supporting classroom routines, organisation and general classroom activities.

• Promoting a safe, nurturing and positive environment for all children.

To be successful in this Early Years Teaching Assistant role, you will need:

• Previous experience working within an Early Years setting or Early Years classroom.

• A relevant Early Years, Childcare or Teaching Assistant qualification is essential.

• Good understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum.

• Experience delivering or supporting small group interventions.

• Good understanding of children's early development, phonics and early learning.

• A nurturing, patient and encouraging approach when working with young children.

• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

• The ability to build positive relationships with children, staff and parents.

• A proactive and enthusiastic approach to supporting children's learning and development.

• A strong commitment to safeguarding and child wellbeing.

• A DBS on the update service, or issued within the last 12 months.

• A minimum of two excellent references.
