A welcoming and supportive Primary School in Wednesbury is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their team full-time from September on a long-term basis.

This role will involve supporting a Year 4 class, providing general classroom support alongside targeted interventions and small group activities. The school is looking for a qualified and experienced Teaching Assistant with previous Key Stage 2 experience who can make a positive contribution to pupils' learning and development.

The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher to support pupils throughout the school day, helping to deliver engaging learning activities and providing additional support to pupils who require it. You will be confident working with small groups and delivering interventions to reinforce learning and help pupils make progress.

As a Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the class teacher with the teaching and learning of a Year 4 class.

• Providing general classroom support to pupils throughout the school day.

• Delivering targeted interventions to support pupils' academic progress.

• Providing small group support across areas such as reading, writing and maths.

• Supporting individual pupils who require additional assistance with their learning.

• Working closely with the class teacher to identify and address pupils' learning needs.

• Adapting activities and resources to support different abilities and learning styles.

• Encouraging pupils' confidence, independence and engagement with learning.

• Supporting positive behaviour and maintaining an inclusive classroom environment.

• Providing feedback to the class teacher regarding pupils' progress, engagement and behaviour.

• Working collaboratively with other Teaching Assistants and school staff.

To be successful in this Teaching Assistant role, you will need:

• A relevant Teaching Assistant, Education or Childcare qualification is essential.

• Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant within a Primary School.

• Previous Key Stage 2 experience, ideally within Years 3–6.

• Experience supporting pupils with interventions and small group activities.

• Good understanding of the Key Stage 2 curriculum.

• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

• The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.

• A patient, nurturing and supportive approach to working with children.

• Confidence supporting pupils with a range of abilities and learning needs.

• A proactive and enthusiastic approach to supporting teaching and learning.

• A strong commitment to safeguarding and child wellbeing.

• A DBS on the update service, or issued within the last 12 months.

• A minimum of two excellent references.
