Flourish Education are currently recruiting for a Year 2 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Wolverhampton.
This is a full-time Teaching Assistant position starting ASAP, with the role available on an ongoing, long-term basis. The successful candidate will provide general classroom support within a Year 2 class, working closely with the class teacher and wider class to support pupils with their learning and development.
There are pupils with SEN within the class, so you will also be required to provide additional support where needed, helping pupils to access learning and feel supported within the classroom.
As a Year 2 Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities will include:
- Providing general classroom support within a Year 2 class
- Supporting the class teacher with the delivery of lessons and classroom activities
- Working with individuals and small groups to support learning
- Providing additional support to pupils with SEN when required
- Helping pupils to remain engaged and focused during lessons
- Supporting pupils with their social, emotional and academic development
- Helping to maintain a positive, safe and inclusive classroom environment
- Supporting with classroom organisation and activities
The successful Year 2 Teaching Assistant will ideally have:
- Previous experience working within a primary school
- Experience supporting children with their learning and development
- Experience supporting pupils with SEN is desirable
- A patient, caring and positive approach
- The ability to work effectively alongside a class teacher
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A reliable, flexible and professional attitude
- A strong school reference
