Are you a passionate Early Career Teacher (ECT) ready to take the next step and begin your teaching journey in a supportive primary school setting?

A welcoming two-form entry primary school in Nuneaton is looking to appoint a dedicated Year 1 Class Teacher from September on a full-time basis for the academic year.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Newly Qualified Teacher to complete their induction year in a nurturing and well-structured environment. You will be responsible for full class teaching duties, including planning, delivery, marking, and assessment, with strong support from experienced staff and leadership. The school offers excellent guidance to help you develop your teaching skills while ensuring pupils achieve their full potential.

As a Year 1 Class Teacher in this role, your responsibilities will include:
  • Planning and delivering engaging and creative lessons in line with the Key Stage 1 national curriculum.
  • Marking and assessing pupils’ work, providing clear feedback to support progress.
  • Tracking and monitoring pupil attainment with support from your mentor and adapting teaching to meet individual needs.
  • Creating a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment.
  • Managing behaviour effectively in line with school policies.
  • Working collaboratively with teaching assistants, colleagues, and senior leaders.
  • Communicating effectively with parents and carers regarding pupil progress and wellbeing.
To be successful in this Year 1 Teacher role, you will need:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or be due to achieve QTS by Summer 2026.
  • A strong understanding of the Key Stage 1 curriculum (support will be provided as part of your ECT induction).
  • A positive and proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop.
  • Good classroom management and communication skills.
  • The ability to plan and deliver engaging lessons with appropriate support and guidance.
