A welcoming two-form entry primary school in Nuneaton is looking to appoint a dedicated Year 1 Class Teacher from September on a full-time basis for the academic year.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Newly Qualified Teacher to complete their induction year in a nurturing and well-structured environment. You will be responsible for full class teaching duties, including planning, delivery, marking, and assessment, with strong support from experienced staff and leadership. As a Year 1 Class Teacher in this role, your responsibilities will include:
  • Planning and delivering engaging and creative lessons in line with the Key Stage 1 national curriculum.
  • Marking and assessing pupils’ work, providing clear feedback to support progress.
  • Tracking and monitoring pupil attainment with support from your mentor and adapting teaching to meet individual needs.
  • Creating a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment.
  • Managing behaviour effectively in line with school policies.
  • Working collaboratively with teaching assistants, colleagues, and senior leaders.
  • Communicating effectively with parents and carers regarding pupil progress and wellbeing.
To be successful in this Year 1 Teacher role, you will need:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or be due to achieve QTS by Summer 2026.
  • A strong understanding of the Key Stage 1 curriculum (support will be provided as part of your ECT induction).
  • A positive and proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop.
  • Good classroom management and communication skills.
  • The ability to plan and deliver engaging lessons with appropriate support and guidance.
