Are you a passionate and dedicated KS1 Teacher looking for a full-time role starting in April?

A welcoming 2-form entry Primary School in Oldbury is seeking a committed Year 1 Class Teacher to join their team from April through to the end of the academic year in July, with the potential to extend until the October half-term.

This is a full-time teaching position within Key Stage 1, offering full classroom responsibility including planning, marking, and assessment.

In this role, you will take ownership of a Year 1 class, delivering engaging and creative lessons that support pupils’ academic and personal development. You will be supported by a collaborative team within a 2-form entry structure, helping to share ideas and best practice.

This Year 1 Teacher role is open to Early Career Teachers (ECTs) as well as experienced teachers, and is ideal for those looking to gain valuable experience within a supportive school environment.

As a Year 1 Class Teacher, your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning, preparing, and delivering engaging lessons in line with the KS1 curriculum

  • Assessing, recording, and reporting on pupil progress

  • Marking work in line with school policy and providing constructive feedback

  • Managing classroom behaviour effectively and creating a positive learning environment

  • Differentiating learning to meet the needs of all pupils, including those with additional needs

  • Working collaboratively with colleagues within the year group

  • Contributing to the wider school community and attending staff meetings


To be successful in this Year 1 Class Teacher role, you will need:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • Previous experience teaching within Key Stage 1 (ideal but not essential)

  • Strong knowledge of the KS1 curriculum

  • Excellent classroom management and organisational skills

  • A positive and proactive approach to teaching

  • A commitment to supporting children’s learning and development
