Our client is seeking a Year 1 Teaching Assistant for whole class support as well as providing small group phonics interventions. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in delivering phonics interventions.
This role is due to start immediately and is to continue until the end of the academic year.
Responsibilities of a Year 1 Teaching Assistant, include:
- Provide support to the Year 1 teacher and assist in the delivery of the National Curriculum.
- Lead phonics interventions for small groups of students.
- Assist with the monitoring and tracking of pupil progress.
- Support the social and emotional development of students.
- Help to create an inclusive classroom environment that promotes engagement and positive behaviour.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or TA within a UK primary school is essential.
- Experience in delivering phonics interventions or supporting literacy skills.
- A good understanding of the National Curriculum for Key Stage 1 (KS1).
- Relevant qualifications, such as Level 2 or Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning.
- Passion for supporting the development of young children and helping them reach their full potential.
