Year 2 Teacher – Maternity cover starting this September, part-time, in a supportive and creative First School in Bromsgrove. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced Key Stage 1 Teacher who is confident in managing full class responsibilities, including planning and marking, within a nurturing Year 2 environment. The school places strong emphasis on SMSC development and offers Forest School provision as part of its curriculum.

Job Role for a Year 2 Teacher:

  • Full class responsibilities including planning and marking- shared as part of a jobshare, part-time.
  • Deliver engaging lessons in line with the National Curriculum
  • Foster a safe and supportive classroom environment
  • Track and assess pupil progress regularly
  • Work collaboratively with staff and parents to support learning
  • Promote high standards of behaviour and learning
Required Skills and Experience:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience working as a Key Stage 1 Teacher / KS1 Teacher / Primary Teacher
  • Excellent behaviour management skills
  • Knowledge of the National Curriculum, especially Key Stage 1 (KS1) and some awareness of Key Stage 2 (KS2)
  • Confident leading a Year 2 classroom
