Flourish Education is recruiting for a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 1 Class Teacher to join a welcoming primary school in Smethwick. This is a full-time, long-term position starting in January and running until the end of the academic year.

The role will involve full class teacher responsibilities, including planning, preparation, and marking. The school is looking for a passionate and committed teacher who can create engaging and inclusive lessons that inspire children to reach their full potential.

Previous experience working within Key Stage 1 is essential, and a strong understanding of the Year 1 curriculum and assessment requirements will be beneficial. As a Year 1 Class Teacher, your responsibilities will include:
  • Planning and delivering high-quality lessons that engage and inspire students, in line with the Key Stage 1 Curriculum, including a strong knowledge of Phonics.
  • Encourage learning which enables pupils to achieve high standards, grow as individuals and nurture values
  • Observing and marking work efficiently to ensure students’ academic progress.
  • Supporting students in their personal, social, and academic development.
  • Ensuring a positive and productive learning environment with excellent behaviour management.
  • Collaborating effectively with staff to create a supportive and team-oriented atmosphere.

Required Skills and experience needed for this Year 2 Class Teacher role:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Proven experience teaching in Primary Education, particularly in Key Stage One.
  • A passion for creating stimulating and engaging learning experiences.
  • Excellent classroom management skills.
  • A minimum of 2 school/ nursery based references
