Search jobsRole: Year 5 class teacher, 3 days per week
Area: DY3, Dudley
Starting: February half term to end of the academic year
Flourish education is seeking to recruit a Year 5 class teacher for a two-form entry school in the Dudley area. The school has high expectations for the pupils within the school but very much works by the ethos that the children are treated as if they were their own. Strong links are developed between school and home, where the connection is seen as one of the keys to success. The school staff are dedicated to ensuring that all pupils make good progress and succeed in their learning.
The Year 5 class teacher would be starting after February half term and the post would continue until the end of the academic year. The position is for three days per week (Wednesday, Thursday and Friday). An experienced teacher with knowledge of the Year 5 curriculum would be highly desirable, as the role will involve planning. The school is a two-form entry, so the Year 5 class teacher would have a year group colleague to discuss the planning with. Previous experience teaching in Upper Key Stage 2 would be preferred, however other Key Stage Two teaching would be considered.
The ideal Year 5 class teacher would be someone with experience in a Key Stage 2 year group, with the ability to plan or work with schemes of work. The ideal candidate should be someone with the confidence to plan lessons and activities. Confidence to build long-lasting relationships with both pupils, staff and parents would be needed, as this is a long-term post. Enthusiasm and the ability to work within a team are also essential.
