Role: Year 6 class teacher, maternity cover

Area: Wordsley, DY8

Starting: February half term to July

Flourish Education is working with a one and a half form entry school is the Wordsley area of Dudley. The school are keen and eager to support the development of the whole child, enabling them to develop skills that will enable them to succeed. As a school, the staff seek to support their children to become successful, confident and responsible individuals.

The ideal Year 6 class teacher would be someone who has previous experience working in Upper Key Stage 2, as well as knowledge or experience of KS2 SATs. The position has come available as a result of a maternity cover and is scheduled to start after February half term and continue until July.

As this role is a long-term post, the ability to develop strong relationships with pupils, parents and staff will be essential. It will be necessary to work effectively as part of a team and support the pupils as they work towards their SATs and end of year targets. The ideal Year 6 teacher would be confident and eager to help children make progress, working closely with colleagues to enable all pupils to make good progress.

To apply for this Year 6 class teacher role you will need the following:

• QTS qualified (NQT/ECT’s also considered).
• Previous experience in Year 6 would be highly desirable.
• Previous experience in Key Stage 2 is essential.
• Good communication, working effectively as part of a team.
• Knowledge of the Year 6 curriculum and SATs.
• DBS on the update service or issued in the last 12 months.
• Minimum of 2 excellent references required.

Responsibilities for the Year 6 class teacher:

• To deliver a range of lessons to match the Year 6 curriculum.
• To help all pupils to make progress towards Age-related standards.
• To monitor and report pupil progress to relevant stakeholders.
• To follow the school behaviour policy and code of conduct.
• To liaise with year group colleagues and support staff.
• To attend meetings and CPD training that is relevant to the role.
