Role: Teaching Assistant, 1:1 (supporting SEN pupil)
Area: Rowley Regis – B65
Starting: Immediately, full-time (long term role)
Flourish Education is currently working with a three-form entry Primary school in Rowley Regis who are seeking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time, long-term basis. The school has a vibrant and young staff, who are looking for a like-minded teaching assistant to join their team.
The teaching assistant would be required to work with an SEN pupil, who has an EHCP plan. The pupil requires a full-time, 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support with his learning – particularly supporting him with his communication and overall access to his learning. The ideal teaching assistant would be someone who has previous experience of working with pupils on a 1:1 basis, has experience of following/contributing to an EHCP document, as well as knowledge of and experience with SEN needs. As this role would be working in a 1:1 capacity, it is essential that the teaching assistant is able to form close relationships with pupils and staff, working effectively as part of a team to meet the needs of the child. The ideal teaching assistant would be confident and have good initiative, bringing their own ideas and experience to engage the pupil with his learning and ensure that school is a happy place to be.

To apply for this Teaching assistant role you will need the following:
• A relevant teaching assistant qualification.
• Previous experience working with pupils with SEN needs.
• Knowledge/experience of working with an EHCP plan.
• A positive, caring and nurturing approach with young people.
• DBS on the update service or issued in the last 12 months.
• Minimum of 2 excellent references required.
Responsibilities for the Teaching assistant role:
• Support the emotional and educational development of the pupil.
• To report pupil progress to relevant stakeholders.
• To update and contribute to the EHCP plan for the pupil.
• To follow the school behaviour policy and code of conduct.
• To collaborate with colleagues and the class teacher.
• To attend meetings and CPD training that is relevant to the role.
