Help! I’m an ECT – what’s next? A Flourish Roundtable Event

Help! I'm an ECT - what next? A Flourish Education Roundtable event. 8th May 2024, 2pm.

Join us, online, on Wednesday 8th May at 2 pm for a roundtable event where Ashley Winters – Director of Primary for Washwood Heath MAT, discusses how ECT’s can get the most out of their ECT years.

Ashley is passionate about developing and mentoring educators. With a career in education spanning nearly 30 years, his career path has taken him through subject, phase and whole school responsibility with areas of PE, Art, Assessment, Teaching, Learning and Behaviour featuring prominently during those years, making Ashley the perfect guest for this roundtable!

During this not to be missed roundtable, Ashley will share his insights and experience and will talk in detail about how ECTs can proactively take control of their career and make the most out of their ECT years.

Topics to be discussed include:

  • Factors to consider when choosing the right school
  • How to be an effective ECT whilst maintaining a work life balance – including tips on staying organised and looking after your mental well being
  • Understanding the role of your ECT mentor and the expectations of your relationship with your mentor
  • Ashley’s personal top tips on how to get the best out of your ECT years including suggested books, blogs and podcasts that every ECT should check out

This is a fantastic opportunity for newly qualified ECTs as well as ECTs currently undertaking their 1st year to find out how to get the best out of their ECT years.

After the event, along with the recording, Ashley will share a templated teaching standards action plan and exemplars with all attendees, to help ensure your ECT years are a success.

Can't make the date? Don't worry, register anyway and we will send you the recording and action plan after the event.
